The Bull 3D (LIMITED ANAGLYPH EDITION)

The American Buffalo is iconic as Yellowstone National Park and so it’s only fitting that the two should be together.

In the winter of 2023, I had the opportunity to take a tour of Yellowstone during the winter. I was the only photographer on the bus. We’d seen sights all day and just as we were headed out of the park, our guide said there was a bull walking down the road. He shouted back to me saying that if I wanted to get a once in a lifetime photo, this was going to be my one chance.

I ran up to the front of the bus and the guide gave me strict instructions to stay in the bus, stay on the stairs, and remain seated.

We pulled well off to one side of the road to give the bull his space, I readied my camera, and steadied my elbows on my knees. Our guide said he was going to slowly open the door and only about half way, but that he would not be stopping.

It was snowing and and it was -30º F so it was cold, windy and very white out and the bull stood out in all of his dark coat. He never slowed or even looked my way.

This is the result of that moment. I quickly made three frames as we passed by and as luck would have it, I got one lined up just right.

The 3D aspect came later as I wanted the viewer to feel some of what I saw, some of the dimension, and some of the size. Even at the print size I am releasing these in, it doesn’t do this beautiful animal justice.

This is a LIMITED EDITION run of 10 of this print. All prints will be made to 36x36 and will come with 5 pairs of 3D anaglyph glasses. After these sell there will never be another run.
