Saint Malo Breaker Wall, Bretagne, France

from $150.00

There is a wonderful book by Anthony Doerr, All The Light We Cannot See, that tells the story of a young, blind Parisian girl during WWII who must flee to the coast in Bretagne to escape the Germans and the story of a young German boy who joins the ranks of the German military to avoid life in the coal mines. The story settles in a small village of Saint-Malo and I fell in love with the book and the description of this place. So I went and saw it for myself. Sunny days here can feel like a tropical getaway, while when a storm pushes through it can feel intimidating.
