Road To Roan

Roan Mountain runs right along the Appalachian Trail. It borders North Carolina and Tennessee. Just across the valley used to sit one of the Blue Ridge Mountains most famous hotels, now only marked by a sign after its fire over 100 years ago. It’s a great place to watch the stars. But mostly it is one of the more beautiful places to take a walk and clear your head. I was doing just that while hoping to catch myself above the clouds, but instead the universe had other thoughts, and so I walked through the clouds instead. It’s eery and beautiful, and any hikers wet dream.
