Morning, Dunes

Great Sand Dunes in Colorado is a beautiful place to photograph just about anytime, but climbing those massive dunes before sunrise is a whole other experience. The way the light hits the top of the dunes, the texture of the dunes, and of course the enormous size of them - it’s almost like being on another planet. As I was climbing up, undoubtedly catching my breath, this little valley of dune sat in front of me and reminded me of an open sea, an unmade bed, and even the folds of our own skin all in one moment. Reminders that there are connections everywhere if we are looking for them.
