Half-Iron (LIMITED EDITION)

$750.00

The first time I went to New York two things happened that I will never forget. One, upon arrival into Grand Central Station I had to use the bathroom. The urinals were too tall for me (I was 7 or 8) so I used a stall. As soon as I closed the door a homeless man began banging on the door screaming at me to get out of his house. Not only did I not relieve myself, but I scooted under the stall into another stall and ran out. The second thing was seeing the Flat Iron building in Madison Square. It stood out amongst all of the other buildings in a way that resonated with me then and still does to this day. Everyone loves a tall building, but for me the Flat Iron is for me. But it’s been seen so many ways, and I wanted to create something that felt as if a technical drawing and a photograph has a Frankenstein baby.
