Edisto Beach in Charleston is filled with driftwood. Not the hunks you see adorning seaside bars, but full trees. As if they grew there just as they are. But as you round the trail and walk onto the beach, you are reminded of how contrasting nature can be - both in literal terms of light but also how with destruction comes new life. This is from the root of one tree that was laid on its side. I inverted one image and laid it over the other to create this look.

Part of the Driftwood series.
