Cross Section Fire Escape, North Carolina

A good photo walk can unearth some things you never knew you were looking for or wanted. In the year of Covid, a simple walkabout has been the biggest adventure and things seen casually seem more interesting. Take this fire escape, for instance, a year ago I don’t know that this would have stopped me. But that’s one of the things that 2020 brought us, isn’t it? A slowing down. An unexpected appreciation for little things like light and lines and a little fresh air.
