Bonneville Salt Flats, Utah

I followed two crows down this decrepit old road. They would float down this road riding these incredibly strong wind gusts from the west. At first, I just enjoyed watching them ride a few feet from the ground next to my rental car and then soaring back and up over to lightly land on an old telephone pole for a few seconds. I followed them for a few miles before I tried driving with my thigh to capture some photos and videos of these birds in action. I never got what I wanted and after a very slow 3-4 miles, I stopped to take a break to fly my drone thinking that maybe the car was pushing them further and faster and maybe the drone could do a better job. But as I searched for them on my screen while piloting the drone, I saw this. Mounds of dirt, another string of out of commission telephone pole, and this waterway. Shapes and shadows and lines of a place I would have never seen had I stayed in the car and stayed shooting from my hip or my head. Sometimes we need the birds-eye view to see what we’re missing.
