Cadillac Service Garage Wedding | Greensboro, NC | Sara and Jesse

What I knew immediately after our first phone call was that it was going to be a great experience to be Sara and Jesse’s wedding photographer. Both are radically personable, easy to talk with, and have awesome senses of humor both in general and with each other, Jesse even threw this gem across the bow when I mentioned I may be shaving my beard before the wedding (which I did) that if I didn’t have the beard don’t even bother showing up. That might put some people off, but that northeast sarcasm, gut busting, good times is something I resonate with deeply.

As with any wedding there are the intangibles, the things no couple says about themselves, things you get to witness and watch unfold yourself. And there are also the things that every wedding shares in it’s own ways and that’s friends and family.

When I arrived on the wedding wedding day to the Cadillac Service Garage (seriously dope fucking space!), I had a walk-in encounter in the grooms suite that I wasn’t accustomed to in my career. I have seen all sorts of things, and happy to share that on a one-on-one chat, but usually it’s a bunch of guys who don’t want to get ready sitting around watching sports…or one time Naked and Afraid. But when I walked in Jesse, or Dr Jesse (he’s a chiropractor), was deep into providing his groomsmen with full spinal adjustments.

It didn’t end there.

When I walked into the bride’s suite, I watched as Sara moved around the whole room, making sure everyone was doing well, seeing what they needed, and taking care of them (including their two pups that Rocko and Luca). When I say that I never seen anyone doing this ever it’s not to disparage any other brides or couples…it’s your wedding and it’s totally okay to let other people take care of you. But to see Sara truly and genuinely actively caring for her bridesmaids and family it struck a beautiful chord for me.

The other aspect is family.

And from Sara’s dad’s emotional first moments with Sara, to Jesse’s dad’s toast, to Sara’s mom helping Sara into her dress - there was so much intentionality, joy, and a tangible lightness to the entire day. Clearly the apples didn’t fall far from the tree.

It’s weddings like this one that will always keep me coming back, encouraging me to work harder to create something for my couples, and simply loving what I get to do every weekend.
