Do you offer engagement or forever sessions?

We can add any sort of session you'd like to your collection: engagement, anniversary, family portraits, etc.

Once we have an opportunity to talk and I can get a sense for who you are as a couple and how we can best encapsulate that in something for you to see everyday, I can suggest a package that fits you best.

Or we can start with the basics and as we get closer to your wedding date if you want to add hours, albums, photo sessions etc, we can do that at just about anytime. You can review all of my pricing here.

Do we have to do an engagement session?

The short answer is no. However, I absolutely recommend them.

Take it from someone who did not get engagement photos before they got married (yep, me) and really wishes they had done it.

And I have heard all of the excuses:

  • "we don't have time" (it's an hour or two, if you don't have that time then how do you plan to get married)

  • "we're awkward in front of the camera" (yeah yeah yeah, I hear that literally every time. It's my job to help you know what to do in front of the camera, and then guess who knows what to do to look AMAZING on their wedding day? Yep, that's right, you)

  • "we're just boring people and we never leave the house" (and what? Some of the most intimate and beautiful engagement sessions are in-home sessions)

  • "we just aren't into all the formalities like engagement session" (who said anything about formal? I'm suggesting we take a few hours to walk around, maybe grab a snack, probably grab a drink or two, laugh, tell some stories and find a few pretty spots to make a few photos).

Now does it sound so bad?

I just want to book you. Can I just do that without talking to you first?

I get it. Time is important. It's important to me too.

But your wedding vendors are not a dime a dozen.

There are ones who are better suited for you, your family and your needs. I know that we are all busy, just give me 15 minutes on the phone to get to know you and to see if we are the right fit for one another.

And if we are a match, then we can book right away!

Ok, we have 15 minutes to spare. Once we have talked, how does the booking process work?

When we have figured out what package will work best for you, I will send you a personalized quote and contract.

Once you sign the contract and pay the $2000 retainer fee, your date is locked and we're all set!

And if you need help finding any other vendors, I am happy to provide you with a referral list of pros I have worked with and trust.

We aren't getting married in North Carolina, what are your travel fees?

If it is more than a two hour drive from Raleigh, NC, I ask that you cover the cost of one night in a hotel for me (and my second if part of the package).

If it is more than a five hour drive from Raleigh, I ask that you pay for my flight plus two nights in a hotel for weddings in the US or 4 nights for international weddings.

So that means if you are getting married anywhere from Washington DC to Savannah to Knoxville, then the cost for me to travel is only the hotel you book for me.

Just keep in mind this handy fun fact: the better night sleep I get before your wedding the better I photograph on your wedding day - so better than a hostel but maybe not as nice as the place that puts a mint on your pillow.

Do you have a price list that you can share with us?

I do and you can find that right here.

Though I know how important time is to many of my clients, so my wedding pricing begins at $3500 and most couples end up spending around $6000.

Can we have a second photographer on our wedding day?

The short answer is yes.

I have a few second photographers I work with, and they are all professionals with their own full-time businesses that I would trust to photograph my wedding.

So if you would like one, we can make that happen for you.

My mom and dad would really like to talk to you before we book, is that going to be a problem?

I believe the wedding day is not just about the bride and the groom.

This is about your entire family, and everyone's input is important to me.

I am happy to speak with anyone who may have some questions for me.

We had such an awesome wedding day and are so excited to see the photographs, when will they be done?

I know how anxious you are going to be when you get back from your honeymoon to sit down and relive your wedding day and I am just as excited for you to see it.

When you return from your honeymoon, I will have your album design completed and we can get together to go over and get your order processing.

Typical turn time for everything is 3-4 weeks and then another 3-4 weeks for your album to be printed and delivered.

It's been a year since our wedding, do you offer anniversary sessions or family sessions?

My goal when I started my studio, was to make a difference in people's lives, to provide them with art that presses their emotional reset button and helps them to feel the day and the time that photo was made.

I would love to capture your life as it continues to grow and change in so many beautiful ways whether that be celebrating another love filled year, welcoming a new family member (yes, furry kids count too) to your home, celebrating a milestone birthday or a family reunion.

Your life is worth documenting, not just for you, but for your children and grandchildren. This is your story, don't forget to tell it to all generations to come.
