Mims House Wedding | Holly Springs, NC | Mad Dash Weddings | Lauren and David

A Mims House wedding isn't like all other weddings. There is a certain something special, something unique about each Mims House wedding. And Lauren and David's wedding was no exception to that rule.

Now I know what you're going to say.

Assuming of course that you are Lauren and David, hey guys!

But if you were Lauren and David, you might be saying: "It feels so long ago since our wedding." And you'd be right. I know that having an new baby to care for can just erase any concept of daylight hours or even days of the week altogether sometimes, but you are not hallucinating, this is your wedding blog...almost two years late. And for that I am sorry. Though, I also know that when you are caring for a baby and taking care of life, that a little distraction is always welcome and what could be more of a welcome distraction than looking back on your wedding day?! Am I right or am I right? (those are your only two choices, there is no option C).

But let's get back to their wedding day, shall we?

I had the pleasure of getting linked up with Lauren and David through Mad Dash Weddings, which is a rad little wedding planning service that the ladies of the Mims House introduced to the Raleigh area a couple of years ago and I have been lucky to be a part of it. The idea is for couples who want to have all of the joy, vendors, beautiful venue, 'day of' events of a full wedding day but compacted in just a few hours, they can do just that! So they pair up couples with the right folks to help make that day amazing for them and when Brooke from Mad Dash told me about Lauren and David, I knew it was going to be great match.

First off, Lauren and David were getting ready at one of my other favorite venues and general all around cool spots, 21c Hotel in Durham, which you may remember from some adventures such as Jeni and Brad's Durham Wedding and of course Claire and Bobby's Star Wars Centric Wedding

I just love everything about the hotel as it offers so many different options for light, aesthetics, color, and backgrounds. I could shoot a hundred weddings there and they would turn out different every time!

Lauren and David's time there was no different. From the time with Lauren and her friends and mom as they got ready and Lauren got into her dress, to David and his bro-in-law getting ready and enjoying a toast of bourbon, to finally their first look in the famed vault.

From there we headed to Holly Springs, to make it to the Mims House to be ready for their ceremony and reception.

They had an intimate and beautiful ceremony, with every gorgeous detail being handled and set to perfection for when we arrived. We had a little time to do portraits before the ceremony so we played in the house a bit and then Lauren and David had a photo they wanted that really was special. David's father had passed away earlier in David's life, but they made sure to have a piece of him there, which was a picture of David and his father from when David was a kid. We had chosen to make this photo of Lauren and David holding the framed photo together in the reception space courtyard behind the Mims House, and it could not have been a better spot as this would be the place that all of their friends and family would share in a beautiful evening celebrating Lauren and David.

Their ceremony went off without a hitch and the reception was fun and dance filled, like all Mims House weddings are (must be something they put in the water)!

Now that they are about a month and a half away from their two year anniversary, I hope these two will read this and go through all of the photos and take some time to really remember and relive that night, because it was a great one.

Happy almost 2-year anniversary, you two! Big hugs to you both!
